Because of the recent rule changes in the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), and the political debates over expanding eligibility for the program, readers may be interested in some poll results on the subject released in June by the Health Foundation of Greater Cincinnati. The 2007 Ohio Health Issues Poll asked Ohioans if they favored expanding SCHIP (or Healthy Start, as the program is known in Ohio) to include all uninsured children in the state. 86% of Ohioans said they would favor the expansion. The poll was completed as part of the Ohio Poll and complete results and methodology are available in a PDF download from the Health Foundation's website. These results mirror a new poll on the same issue from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
The Health Foundation also released two other polls with that one: What Ohioans Think About Healthcare Issues for the President and Congress to Work on and What Ohioans Think About Important Issues for the 2008 Presidential Election.
